The Fertile Void Tarot by Serpentfire

Finally: a new deck by Devany ‘Fae’ Wolfe at Serpentfire.

You know that stretch where one thing ended and the next hasn’t started? You left the job. The relationship’s over. You moved. And now you’re just here. That’s the void. The in-between. We’re trained to treat it like an emergency, to fix it fast and fill it with noise. But the void is fertile. It’s the part of the soil where things root before anything shows above ground.

The Fertile Void is the deck I backed with my own money the day it hit Kickstarter. Devany Amber Wolfe, the artist behind Serpentfire, built it for exactly this place. For shadow work, and trusting yourself when the path hasn’t shown itself yet.

The Fertile Void | Devany Amber Wolfe includes:
64 card deck + 300-page Illuminated Magazine · collage art · rainbow foil edges
A working deck for liminal seasons, shadow work, and finding ground in the unknown. Watch a video of the deck here >

Bulk ordered for my European clients, so no import fees on top. Arriving in Amsterdam, July – August 2026.

Description

I reach for The Fertile Void when I am reading for someone who is standing in the unknowing.

I have followed Devany since her first deck landed in my hands years ago. The collage work stopped me cold then and it still does. She builds quietly and fiercely, on her own terms. No trends. No AI. That matters to me more than I can say.

This deck was built around one idea. We are taught that feeling lost is a problem to fix fast. Devany built the opposite. The void is not empty. It is fertile ground, the tender place things spring from. The deck teaches you to stand in it without fear. That is the most radical thing tarot has done for me.

It is a full 78-archetype arc carried across 64 cards. 22 Major Arcana, 40 Minor across Cups, Swords, Wands and Pentacles, and 2 Secret Arcana. The card backs carry a fresh take on the Kabbalistic Tree of Life with planetary associations, and every edge is finished in rainbow foil that shifts in the light. The cards sit in two stacks inside a magnetic book box.

The Illuminated Magazine is the part that sets it apart. 300 pages on thick 128gsm paper. It runs through the tarot archetypes from the Fool’s Journey, the Hero’s Journey, and the Jungian solar and lunar phases of life, alongside the history of Hermeticism, Kabbalah, modern occultism, astrology, numerology and gemstones. Each Major Arcana card gets artwork insight, upright and shadow meanings, questions, mantras, Hebrew alphabet and Tree of Life notes, and astrological correspondences. This is a deck you study, not skim.

How to work with The Fertile Void
Pull one card when you feel between things and want a clear read
Sit with the magazine entry for whatever card you draw, slowly
Use it for shadow work and the meanings you would rather avoid
Work it through a transition, a move, a grief, a decision not yet made
Keep it as your study deck and read the magazine cover to cover

In ritual, I would reach for this in any liminal season. New moon intention setting when the shape of things isn’t clear yet. Threshold work. Grief tending. The decision you keep circling. It pairs beautifully with quiet and a long evening.

Why buy through me. I bulk ordered direct so my European clients pay one price, straight to the door, no import fees and no customs admin landing on you later.

This deck also makes an extraordinary gift for anyone in transition. A graduation, a leaving, a new chapter, a hard year. It says I see where you are and there is nothing wrong with you.

A deck for the in-between.
A companion for the unknowing.
A working tarot for transition, shadow work, clarity, and standing in the fertile void without fear.
