Description
Moss Agate
Moss Agate is found in several locations around the world, but the most extraordinary towers and formations come from India, which is exactly where this beauty originates. The name says it all. Her blue, grey and green landscape patterns look exactly like moss, like lichen, like the kind of ancient forest floor that has been growing undisturbed for centuries. She is a form of chalcedony, and her extraordinary colouring comes from mineral inclusions of Chrome and Iron that formed within her over millions of years. No two pieces are ever alike. She is always a landscape. Always a world unto herself.
Moss Agate is the stone of abundance, of new beginnings and of deep, lush earth connection. She is the crystal equivalent of forest bathing. Of bare feet on wet grass. Of breathing air so clean and green it feels like your lungs are remembering something they forgot. She grounds you not by making you heavy but by making you rooted. Present. Connected to the natural rhythm of growth, of seasons, of the slow and steady intelligence of the living earth.
She carries the frequency of abundance in its most natural form, not the forced, hustled, anxious kind, but the kind that comes when you are so aligned, so rooted and so present that what belongs to you simply finds its way to you. Like water. Like roots finding water in the dark.
Tuck a wish beneath her. Work your abundance intentions through her. Sit in her energy when you need to remember that growth is always happening, even when you cannot see it yet.
Conscious Crystal Sourcing
At House of Formlab I always try to source my crystals in an ethically minded way. I only choose high quality pieces and work with trusted and reputable suppliers who take ethics in the crystal supply chain seriously.
Many of my suppliers buy directly from the mines and undertake regular site visits during buying trips to ensure working conditions and environmental protections are as claimed. None of my suppliers knowingly buy from mines with child labour, poor or dangerous working conditions. Certain countries are known for dubious practices and I avoid sourcing from those regions entirely.
Often crystals are not what the miners are digging for. More often than not they are byproducts found alongside more valuable elements used in our mobile phones and televisions. This makes supply chains complicated, but where I can I avoid minerals and crystals known to come from this type of operation.
Certificates are often hard to come by. There is still no overarching governing body that certifies crystals in the same way diamonds are now tracked and certified, mainly due to the difference in value. The more outcry there is, the more chance this idea will gain traction. So keep asking and campaigning for ethically sourced crystals and together we can change the crystal universe.
Buying crystals is a learning process. I will make mistakes, everyone does, but rest assured I am always trying my best to make the right choices and provide you with a crystal you can be proud of.
Intuitively Chosen
I use my intuition to choose a piece I feel is calling me for you, a piece that is absolutely meant to be yours. I am a huge believer that the crystal chooses the owner, not the other way around.
I do my best to make sure that the listing photos and information accurately depict what is available so you have a sense of what is coming your way. But the rest is up to the universe.
