I reach for this bowl when I want my sacred work held by something older than me.
The water spirits spoke to me when I was selecting these seven pieces. They told me these belong on the altar of a sister, the one who chooses a mindful alternative to an abalone shell instead of reaching for the easy thing. Hand-carved in Madagascar, each bowl carries the soulful presence of a tranquil sea, and I chose every one of these seven with a specific woman in mind, though I will let you find out for yourself which one is yours.
If you are feeling burnt out, this is the crystal equivalent of forest bathing, restoring and healing the soul. While it is known as Jasper, it is now thought to be a form of banded and radial growth Chalcedony, often containing druzy quartz pockets. Ocean Jasper is only found in Northwestern Madagascar. Ocean Jasper is traditionally worked with for emotional release, protection, and renewal. It carries Water energy, the element of feeling, intuition, and cleansing, into whatever you set it near. I love it for how full it feels in the hand without ever tipping into heaviness.
Each of these seven bowls was hand-carved from raw Ocean Jasper sourced through a supplier in Madagascar. No two are alike, the carver followed each stone’s own pattern rather than shaping it to a mold, so the bands and swirls across the surface shift from piece to piece. Sizes run around 15cm and weight is approximately 1kg, though this varies slightly per bowl since each is carved by hand.
She holds more than one kind of sacred work. Use her as a smudging bowl beneath your cedar, sage, or palo santo. Set her on your altar as a vessel for water itself, the Water element made physical. Fill her with Florida water and bless the earth before a ceremony begins. She was carved to hold whatever you bring to her.

In ritual and witchcraft work, I would use this bowl for smoke cleansing, water blessings, Florida water ceremony, moon rituals, and any altar work that calls in spirit rather than simply clears a room. She pairs beautifully with the herbs and waters you already work with.
How to work with this bowl
Set her at the center of your altar and let her anchor the space. Fill her with Florida water before a ceremony, or let her catch the smoke of your cleansing herbs. Hold her while you set an intention you are ready to release. Keep her out for full moon work, or any ritual where you want something ancient in the room with you.
I do not mass-produce spells, and I did not mass-produce these bowls either. There are seven of these, each hand-carved in Madagascar, each chosen with a specific woman in mind. When they are gone, they are gone, and this exact piece will not return.
Look through the seven, and choose the one whose pattern pulls at you. I believe the water spirits already know which one is yours. You are simply the one catching up.
